haha oh goodness it’s been nearly 10 months since I’ve blogged here. what can I say, I’m consistent. A consistently terrible blogger that is haha. But one thing is quite comforting – the relative annonymity that comes from dropping off the face of the blogging stratosphere thus wrecking my readability (is that a word?). this sense of annonymity I realise really is quite important. a sense of being able to just rant, without the anxieties of impressing or disappointing anyone. I like (:

We just got back from the KL recee last night, and what a trip it was. Step 1.2 in my grand plan has now been accomplished. Now to just get to step 2.0 (PHUKET IN JAN) and all will be well (:

It was so surreal sitting in the transfer coach from the (godforsaken) airport KLIA to KL Sentral. Just mere hours ago I had been at home preparing to leave, sitting in bed chilling out. Fast forward to 11.30pm and I’m on this coach travelling through the vast expanse of land that is Putrajaya (I think), dotted by the glow of orange streetlamps and long winding deserted road, which made it look somewhat like an alien-planet-wasteland. I’m sitting next to a young-ish looking man with his earphones and music plugged in, who spends the whole trip similar to me – staring out captivated by the night. I remember at one point of the journey being struck by how truly bizarre it was to be sitting next to him at that point. Not because he was weird or smelly or looked like someone I knew. But because our realities were simply so vastly different. I ASSUME he was Malaysian and that this was his hometown. My imagination ran wild, trying to form a picture of what his existence was like, and how it was probably so far removed from what my existence was like, and not in a bad way. What kind of things he ate, the types of friends he had, the places he frequented… After a journey of just a couple of hours (it had actually taken me longer to get from home to Changi Airport than to get to KLIA from Changi Airport), here I was sitting next to this other human being who for the sake of my imagination at least came from a different world. haha I think this memory is the most distinct one I have from the trip :p

anyway the rest of the trip was great! we travelled around ALOT on SO MANY different types of transport in one single day, from the hotel taxis, to public taxis, to the LRT, to the shuttle train to the airport, to the shuttle bus to the low-cost terminal then on to a plane, then shuttle bus from Budget Termianal to T2, then Skytrain to T1, then cab to Clarissa’s house for skype with Mish. fun stuff! we visited the Blue Mosque, which is apparently the largest mosque in KL. it was breathtakingly beautiful and crazily HUGE. the dome that covered it just left me speechless. the whole place had such an aura of reverence and quietness around it, this huge 10 acre compound in the middle of bustling Shah Alam. Roaming the hallways and walking on the cool marble floors, I felt the insides of me just settle down a little and slowly just take in this place of worship. More pictures and reflections to come after camp!

haha so I wonder when my next post will be. I hope that this will be the start of the summer holiday resolution that I am making right now as I type – I RESOLVE TO BE LESS OF A TV-GLUED MINDLESS ZOMBIE AND EXPAND MY READING RECORD AND IMPROVE MY CREATIVE WRITING. Yes I do. Yes I will.

and just cos I feel like whooping for joy at the prospect,
IT’S SUMMERRRRRRRRRRRRR! :D :D :D

time to bust out the deck chairs on my imaginary grassy lawn and curl up with a good book
